Research Paper on Continuity and Change across Sui, Tang, Song Dynasties

You will be writing a 3-5 page research paper on continuity and change regarding a specific aspect of the Sui, Tang, and Song (a.k.a. Sung) dynasties.

This paper must be turned in at the beginning of class on Monday, March 15. You should have turned in a rough draft on Monday, March 8.

The length of the paper is 750 to 1,250 words, not including title page and works cited page. Please write in 12 pt., Times New Roman font, color black

Continuity means how did things stay the same? There is usually a combination of continuity and change. Select one of the “threads” below and narrow your topic. You will need to begin reading as soon as possible to narrow down your topic.

We would like you to use at least three different sources. At least one of your sources must be a book. We encourage you to use more than one book. There is of course a good deal of information available on line. Retrieve the book from any library you choose. If you are writing on art, the Metropolitan Museum of Art has a library open to the public. However, they do not permit you to take books out of that library.
